In Melbourne for the NFL? Make a Weekend of It in St Kilda
Melbourne is making sporting history this week, with the Los Angeles Rams taking on the San Francisco 49ers in Australia’s first-ever regular-season NFL game.
Whether you’ve travelled interstate, flown in from overseas or are making a weekend of it closer to home, there’s plenty to experience beyond the action at the MCG.
Once the final whistle blows, swap the stadium stands for sand, ocean views and good times at Republica St Kilda Beach.
Kick Off Your Weekend by the Bay
After Friday morning’s game, make your way to St Kilda and settle in beside the water.
Located inside the iconic St Kilda Sea Baths, Republica brings together beachfront dining, modern Australian food, refreshing cocktails and uninterrupted views across Port Phillip Bay.
Grab your crew, recap the game and raise a glass to your team from one of Melbourne’s most iconic seaside locations. Walk-ins are welcome, or you can book a table inside and make an afternoon of it.
Saturday: Beachfront Breakfast and Live Music
Ease into Saturday with breakfast by the beach from 8.30am, followed by a walk along the foreshore, a wander through Acland Street or a visit to some of St Kilda’s best-known attractions.
From 3pm, the Republica courtyard comes alive with live music from Melbourne artist Brendan Cooney.
Settle in for an afternoon of relaxed acoustic music, beachfront drinks and something delicious from the menu before Josh Condor takes over from 7pm and carries the atmosphere into Saturday night.

Sunday: Run, Rave, Flow and Refuel
Sunday morning at St Kilda Sea Baths is all about movement, music and connection, with two community wellness experiences taking place alongside Republica.
The Morning Drop: Morning Run & Rave
Start your Sunday on a high with The Morning Drop—a welcoming morning of movement, music and seriously good energy.
Run, walk or dance your way through the morning, with all fitness levels and paces welcome. Come along with friends or show up solo and leave with a whole new crew.
The morning begins with a run or walk at 9am, followed by a HIIT class at 10.30am and a sober rave from 10.45am. The experience wraps up with connection and nourishment at Republica from 11.45am.
Feel Good Flows Yoga
Prefer to start your Sunday at a gentler pace?
Feel Good Flows will be hosting its weekly community yoga session on the St Kilda Sea Baths rooftop from 9.30am–10.30am.
Celebrating individuality, connection and growth, the session welcomes every body and every ability. Simply bring a yoga mat or towel, dress for the weather and take in the fresh sea air from one of St Kilda’s most impressive rooftop locations.
After the session, head downstairs to Republica for coffee, breakfast and a relaxed catch-up by the beach.
Sunday Afternoon Live Music
Once you’ve run, raved or flowed your way through the morning, stay for an afternoon beside the bay.
From 3pm, Sebastian Haysman will soundtrack your Sunday afternoon with live music at Republica. Settle in with a cocktail, order a few dishes for the table and soak up the final hours of an unforgettable Melbourne weekend.
Experience St Kilda Like a Local
There’s a reason St Kilda remains one of Melbourne’s most popular destinations.
From its famous foreshore and lively music scene to its community wellness events and beachfront dining, it’s the ideal place to turn your trip to the NFL Melbourne Game into a full weekend experience.
Come down for a post-game meal, start your Sunday with movement by the bay or settle in for an afternoon of local live music at Republica.
Walk-ins are always welcome, but with thousands of NFL fans visiting Melbourne this week, booking ahead is recommended.
