For 20 years, Republica has been a beloved part of St Kilda.
Where friends come together, music fills the air, and good times flow as naturally as the tides. What once was two separate spaces was brought together and transformed into one vibrant venue, creating a welcoming spot for the community to enjoy.

Family owned, the venue was originally called Amello, a name inspired by the first letters of the owners’ children’s names, keeping the family spirit close. It was soon reborn as Republica, reflecting its true heart as a place “for the people.” From day one, Republica has proudly offered free live entertainment and a welcoming space where everyone feels at home.

As Republica celebrates 20 years on the St Kilda foreshore, we’re throwing a 20-day birthday bash packed with everything you love: live entertainment, headline DJs, beachside bites, and drink specials that hit just right. We’re honouring our roots by bringing back some beloved crowd favourites, while also embracing fresh acts that speak to the music we love today.

From sun-drenched afternoons to late-night dance floors, it’s a celebration of where we’ve been and where we’re headed, always with the community at the heart of it all.
